Who I Am

I’m a multi-disciplinary Investor, Product Leader, and Technologist living in Big Sky, Montana. Since 2011 I’ve worked at large scale, hyper-growth technology companies. In my career I’ve experienced 2 IPOs and 3 acquisitions.

I specialize in software as a service (SaaS) products and have experience with data science, machine learning, mobile apps, cyber security, web hosting, and web apps.

Where I Work

I’m a Group Manager of Product for Data Science at GitLab focused on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. We’re empowering developers to more effectively build ML/AI technologies and adding ML/AI capabilities to GitLab features to make them smarter and more automated.
GitLab is an open core company which develops software for the software development lifecycle used by more than 100,000 organizations and has an active community of more than 2200 contributors. GitLab believes in a world where everyone can contribute.

Previously, I was a Senior Product Manager at Yonder / New Knowledge, an information integrity company using data science to detect fake news, disinformation, and inauthentic behavior online. Prior to that I was a Senior Product Manager at Duo Security focused on duo’s mobile app helping protects organizations against data breaches with multifactor authentication. Before that I was a Product Manager at WP Engine, WP Engine is the leading digital experiences platform on WordPress. Over 5% of the web visits a site on WP Engine’s platform every day. Prior, I was an Interaction Designer at Indeed.com, the world’s #1 job search engine, where I helped 180 million job seekers find jobs every month.

I founded an impact investing angel fund focused on inclusive technology companies with diverse teams solving real problems in the world with responsible and ethical technology products. My investments have seen 1 aqusition thus far.

Too often companies seeking to solve big problems with true care for their customers—can’t get off the ground. I want to change that. I believe that the best technology companies are inclusive, focused on real problems in the world, and build secure, private, and ethical products that people trust.

Map design to code. Smooth constraints. Solve edge cases. Move that button 3 pixels to the left. Fill the gap between functional and delightful.

Refine

Test prototypes with real people against actual problems. Combine insights with gut intuition and experience. Iterate and improve in pursuit of perfection.
